Only to add/clarify: Assuming it's legit (and not just attention-seeking behavior), then It's not really a "decision" one makes anyway, but the result of a mental disorder.
Trying to normalize, champion, or force social acceptance for gender dysphoria is akin to doing the same for anorexia, schizophrenia, or any other mental illness.
