Location: Placerville, CA.... You know, the only place on Highway 50 between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe the you find signal lights. Above the fog most of the time and I can see the stars of the Milky Way 8 out of 10 nights. Kinda cool.....

The ultimate Ski and Equipment thread.

Now I’m feeling bad for getting rid of my 205 Authiers with you guys talking about vintage sets

I way overdressed for the warm temps. I’m boiling. It was seriously a jeans and short sleeve day.

I was pleasantly surprised by the performance of my Thrift Store score. The Fisher Race SC’s did not disappoint. I was mostly on groomed runs and they edged well even though they need a nice edge and wax tune. As mentioned by Billybek, they are a more ridged ski good for carving and the bumps. Good response feel. I did encounter some chatter on high speed run but that was also early on and the surface was still a bit icy. I do need to adjust the DIN settings on the rear binding on the Fishers.

The Demo shop is selling off this years models but all are way longer than I prefer. So the hunt continues for the right length. On a side note, we picked up a good new set for the wife. She is still getting her feet under her so we located a good beginner pair for her to develop her technique. A lite set of Rossignol with Look bindings.

Now we need to find a good set of boots for her and I. Might look into a reputable boot fitter if we can find one locally. Any info on that process would be appreciated.

Cheers
