My grandfather worked at the Oklahoma City, Armor and Company during the 1920s to when the plant closed in the 1960s. He did just about every job possible there, from the killing to the loading the cut up meat into rail cars and trucks. Evey aspect of cutting up animals, in the days before USDA and after. He would not eat hot dogs they made. He ate meat and lots of it.
I know a couple of ranchers that raise cattle on the fields they own. Some have the cattle butchered themselves and many sell them to a wholesaler. We don't want to buy a side of beef or even a 1/4.
