OK, I have to agree, I thought it sounded wrong.
So it is usually called 50 thousandths I presume. Some engines get a 30 thousandths overbore and 50 thousandths is considered about the limit without having overheating issues.
That all makes sense. I still wonder when I bought a set of tiny Allen wrenches. It must have been long ago, when Sears had the best tool department I could go to and spend hours slobbering on tools. The good news is I had them right in my workbench drawer where they have been for over 30 years.
