I just finished replacing both of my tunnel lines. I did it without removing the engine or transmission. Just remove the rear transmission support mount per boyt911sc's comment above. I also left my steering mechanism in place, and have a bump steer kit there. It was difficult to route the new front end hoses over the steering mechanism, but shouldn't be as bad if you don't have the bump steer kit installed.

There are a lot of threads here on replacing these lines, although a lot of folks use lines made by Len, instead of the standard factory lines. Still, a lot of the principles are the same.
