I'd leave it stock and just get everything up to snuff. It's not like it's ever going to be a quick car, two 4s are just going to suck a bigger hole in the atmosphere when you step on it. These cars stock drive like a pussy cat, just unbelievable.

The hardest thing to get right on an old Caddy is the sound. The original exhaust had resonators as well as mufflers, so they actually breathed pretty well but were quiet. They had a quiet burble to them at idle. No one ever wants to spend the $$ to replace the exhaust system to stock and they always sound wrong to me. Any loud or cheap sounding exhaust just makes them a POS, IMO.
