Are you sure, you will get up early and go out for a ride without her? I ask only because I stopped taking running shoes and clothes on international trips because typically I don't use them even though I run most days at home. I would just make sure if you go through the trouble and cost of transporting a bike that you and you wife are comfortable with the idea of a couple hours in the morning separated.
