I saw a video once somewhere when a aerial drop of water was done to a car and if almost flattened the car. Water dropped from air was not a viable solution and very well could have done a lot of damage on top of the fire.

Dropping water on burning trees in a forest is just not the same thing.

I have to wonder, when the replace those beams, will they use steel? I would hope so. Steel will last a lot longer than wood.

I would think the Catholic church can write a check to pay for the damage. Especially with millions in donations to boot.
