Agreed- open a new account & tell him that (like his client) you do not use money wire transfers but prefer "certified checks". I'm sure he won't have a problem with this as its obviously ok by him to send it to you in this manner
When you get his check deposit it & let him steam while he waits for your "check" to arrive in the mail
