Many long years ago when the Commodore 64 was the best selling computer out, we had a group of guys that got together to talk computers, and the problems. With the C-64 all the components are just numbers. So the floppy drive was a 1541. The monitor was a 1701 and the modem had a number that I don't remember right now.
Anyway, three guys were in the guys kitchen area where the homeowner had his computer setup. His wife was in the kitchen cooking. We were having a legitimate conversation and she interrupted and accused us of "talking in code" so she would not know what we were really talking about. We all explained the numbers and what the meant and how it was way easier to say 1541 rather than floppy disk drive and so on. I still don't know if she believed us.
