I was looking at those before I got down here to the last post and saw your comment. Thanks for the compliment but I think those are rather simple. Break it down: you bend over the "hook" using another piece of the same thickness as the wedge and a torch. I'm sure the originals were heated in a forge. But hey, we have acetylene now. Once the U bands with the hooks are formed there's only the 2 wedges to cut out. With a sample of the post on hand it wouldn't be an hour's work to fit that.
