Per the UOA report, looks like he was using M1 0w40 which is factory spec. I don’t recall seeing moly in M1 0w40, and the zinc and phosphorous look a little low, so I can’t help but wonder if it was a different oil. The iron is on the high side, but not catastrophically so. Otherwise, the report looks good for the miles.

The TBN of 6 is healthy, M1 starts around 10 or 11 if I recall. But the viscosity looks low, though that’s the usual complaint for why many think that M1 0w40 isn’t enough oil for the M96 engines. The RL forums are filled with folks suggesting more expensive/thicker oils that are more shear resistant than M1 0w40.
