Top bar isn’t overfilled, it’s just at the top of the measure , unless it’s WAY overfilled and that’s the highest the gauge reads
Try taking the oil filter off, and then reinstall and lose about 1/2 of a quart and see if it lowers on the gauge
The top tick and bottom tick are approximately 1 quart of oil
