Wild turkey. Don't see wild turkey much in a residential area. This was from last fall when a rafter (flock) of wild turkey visited the neighborhood every afternoon for about a month. There were about a dozen (all hens). They would cruise about a quarter mile deep into the addition and then work their way back to the roost. They weren't too concerned about traffic or people walking their dogs.
One afternoon my neighbor was outside watching them and I asked if he was baiting the turkey in. "Turkey?" he replies "I thought they were some kind of vulture.". City folk
In this photo they are leaving the porch of the house next door to me.
