Only had 4 or 5 bullies in our neighborhood. Lived on a block that the 4 lots for houses behind our house were vacant. The rest had houses so it was the vacant lot everyone played at. My Dad wouldn't allow anyone to bully or steal from anyone that played there. He would find out, forceably catch the kid and take him home to their parents. Understand that if the parents didn't take responsibility and act like the weren't going to punish the kid. he himself would punish them right then and there. Then tell the parents if it happened again he would punish not only the kid, but the parents as well.

Usually it was older pre-teens or just barely teens picking on younger kids. Thanks to my Dad the bully mentality did not last very long in our neighborhood.

There was one kid that kept bullyiing that his dad challenged my dad. I do not know what happened, but Dad went to visit after the kid was caught bullying shorlly after that first visit and their house was vacant and for sale a week later.
