I don’t speak for Southwest. But what you read is probably 1/2 the story.
If the f/a or captain determined the passenger needed to be removed then they had a reason.
If the police were called then they probably had a reason.
Based on what we know it doesn’t sound logical to kick someone off for making a joke. It happens so rarely that I would bet that there is more to the story.
