Don't do it! I have friends that have both the Discovery and Range Rover. Unless the vehicle is still under warranty, then still No!
They have had to have complete drive-line/tranny and differential gearboxes replaced on them. Up to 40k in parts in one instance, covered under warranty. You can see the prices new and what they are going for used to realize how quickly you should pass and look at something else.
