We start out swatting at them with our hands. After the first cocktail we use rolled up papers and actual fly swatters. Another cocktail and we are having fun shooting at them with salt rifles. About the time the burgers are done someone brings out some bottle rockets. A good strong bottle rocket barrage will keep them at bay for 12 -15 seconds. Cousin Mike starts lighting then up with his 12 gauge loaded with birdshot about the time the third case of Bud Lite arrives. Tiki torches and those hanging electronic things are favorite targets. Later in the evening a variety of short range fireworks are employed.
