Full disclosure:I am a little biased (no great revelation).
I think that McLaren thought they could take what the other teams started and then use their "superior skills" to make it a top flight car and Alonso was a superior driver and could make it work. Wakey wakey. Indy is not a walk in the park.
While I'm at it, I think it was a farce that Alonso was 2017 Rookie of the Year. Call a cop, Ed Jones was robbed!
