allow me to preface this:
i am fairly proficient with Japanese water-stones. i have enough of those.
i do however have a few "coated" blades. i tend to let the occasional swipe on a waterstone go wide and i will scratch up the side of a satin blade. all fine, but on a black coated blade..no bueno. i am looking for better precision.
plus, the same knives have some modern steels that take a long time grinding away in a waterstone slurry.
Lansky is sub $100 with the mounting base. diamond hones. reviews seem fine. any PPOT users? some honest reviews? seems easy enough.
ONLY ASKING ABOUT THE LANSKY.
i dont need to hear about Wicked-Edge, the latest WorkSharp, etc. i KNOW you all have opinions.
