Wow great build list!
What really helped my A/C, even after the Griffiths update, was to replace the blower motor and air box with one from a boneyard Chevy Tahoe - really puts out tons of air. I only have it connected to a toggle switch, I don't think there is ever a reason to want LESS A/C in these cars when you need it.
Try this simple test on a normal car - move the vents so they don't blow on you - makes you hot right away. The airflow is critical to feeling comfortable.
My adaptation of this blower was a test, and I mean to repeat it only much cleaner, but that was like 6 years ago. You have to get a spare stock blower housing to cut up. This will mate to the Porsche evaporator box. Somebody at the parts heaven swap meet was kind enough to give me one! And yes I drove there :-)
