It was a chassis by Lola indeed, an evolution of the LOLA mk6 (which wasn't a new model either).
That's why the film already sucks in my eyes.. statements like " gonna build a car in 90 days"
Trailer makes it sound like Ford got pissed, called shelby in 66 and Shelby built a car and found a driver.
When the Lola already raced in 63, Ford got the Lola in 63, Wyer raced GT40's in 64, DNF,
They shipped the car straight from the track, still dirty to Shelby (who obviously didn't build a car) who then raced em in 65, DNF'ed all the way in Le Mans again.
Only in 66 did they become competetive.. and stayed competetive.
If the trailer is anything to go by, they will make it sound like Shelby got involved right away and anything he touched turned to gold.
It's bollocks
