No doubt, but in most cases private sector bad decisions are the problem of that company. Of course the government gets involved in BIG screw ups and declares them too big to fail, and that just into PARF so I will stop.

The "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" type of person simply has no chance in the real world of politics. The systems is set up to favor the entrenched politicians and their huge bureaucracy. No one at that lever wants change at all, they worked had to get there, and want it to stay.

I worked at a press photographer and was on the legislative floor of both houses of the state level government. I saw and heard first hand the good ol boy network of screw the taxpayer. you vote for my crap, I will vote for your crap and we both get the money to our districts and get reelected. The state taxpayer gets the shaft and the money goes into the pockets of the same crooked folks as always.

No way could I stomach becoming a politician.
