I wear a Tiki on a corded necklace that was carved by Inoke Pomale' out of Buffalo bone. It is "Lono" the god of fertility, agriculture, rainfall, music and peace.

When I first bought it I was joking with him about it bringing bad luck, Greg Brady style. He was serious about Hawaiian folklore and religion, told me to trust in Lono and he will bring me luck.

I was house hunting when I got back home and the house I really wanted already was in escrow. I kept looking at other houses and kept wearing Lono, seeing if he would bring me luck. 3 weeks later I was checking Realtor.com and lo and behold the house had fallen out of escrow that day and was re listed.

Long story short, got the house and Lono has brought me tons of luck since then. I need to have the cord replaced, but can't bring myself to ship it back to Inoke and go 2 weeks without Lono. I'm just going to rig it on another cord and have him do it next time I'm in Hawaii. Crazy.
