When we lived in Hawaii the washer and dryer were on the lanai or back porch. Just open to the weather. Of course the house was single wall construction, and had zero insulation. It got down to 59F one time when we lived there. For anyone that has experienced winter 59 does not sound cold. But when there are no blankets, or jackets, or heaters in the house and everything is 59 it does feel cold. We would go for rides in the car with the heater running to warm up. The locals all dress up like Nanook of the North. We had left all of our coats and blankets in storage on the mainland.
