Obin is more than likely right for USA spec cars, but I have never seen a European spec 924 with 5-bolt wheels unless it was a Turbo.
(Obviously,Europeans didn't deserve it!)
You can adjust the hand brake easily, check the 924 Turbo section of the Haynes manual.
You have to take the wheel off to adjust.
I am not in the UK, presently in Seattle.
