Not to justify the expense, but the car in the add photos very well. My guess is that yes, someone took an aged Carrera and opened the checkbook (and other things) and had it fully restored. Some people can do that.. not everyone does the work themselves while the car is up on jack stands and 2x4s. Others love to tear things apart and spend their time and effort learning and doing and doesn't matter how long it takes.
