I like good music — almost any kind except for punk and rap. Dylan obviously was/is a giant amongst giants but he did a lot of stuff that didn't cut it for me. The article linked above made note of the idea that has been held forever that there is no single meaning to any of Dylan's lyrics no matter how plebeian. Now I can listen to "Lay Lady Lay all day long and not try to read anything into it.
I'm good with that. I feel no need to try and stretch every damn thing in the world of art to something it might not be at all.
As I said, I need to watch the rest (about half) before launching any critique of my own. However, and as with many of you, I was there in real time. He is only 4 years older than I.
