So many good answers here. I would like to add a less popular opinion.
But, to be brutally honest, amongst many
women, one of the main reasons is their inability to see themselves as people in powerful positions. Sometimes, women themselves stereotype themselves and become their own obstacle. For example:
1. Afraid to be seen as a "Ice Queen" to be seen as emotionless. They paint successful women as unsympathetic power-mongers.
