1965 Chevy C20. Dad had a renter that ran a peach orchard. He was going back home and told Dad about the truck. We went i to look at it, removed a bunch of peach branches. Had a 283 with no intake or carb, water in the gas tank, and when we opened the hood rat ran out of the heater box. Dad told the guy he buy for $35. Looked at me and said, when I was 13, here it is you fix it. Pulled it home with a borrowed tractor. And that was my my first truck. Many jobs to pay for parts, many mistakes but finally got it running. Had a 3 speed auto and a 4;11 rear end. Wouldn't go over 50 but I could pull out 2 trucks at one time from the mud holes, many times! The things I did in that truck, its a wonder I'm still alive. Learned how to power slide, oh I mean drift, on slick streets and gravel roads. Sold it a few years later for $600 and then my next POS was a Ford Granade...
