Great coverage, I taped and watched the entirety but fast-forwarded through a portion. Good racing, I predicted early on that something would happen to the #7 car in the last hour that would cause a lead-change.
I'm not saying it was a conspiracy, but I'm not saying I'm clairvoyant either
The announcers on day shift were pretty good and it didn't bother me all that much that we couldn't hear the interviews or radio broadcasts, but who's idea was it to hire Abe Simpson to cover the night shift? Absolutely the worst commentator I have ever heard, bar none. Howard Cosell would have been a better choice, and he's dead.
After 10 minutes of listening to him explain something he knew absolutely nothing about (H2) I hit mute and kept it on most of the time until sun came up. It was obvious he didn't give a crap about the race going on and was content just having a conversation. The only time he seemed to look up was when a car pulled into the pits.
At one time he commented that the race leaders were pitting frequently, not realizing they were regularly scheduled stops.
He said something about how time flies when you're having fun.
No, Time flies when you are not paying attention.
Maybe if he coughed up that phlegm ball and cleared his throat he wouldn't be so obnoxious.
