It's funny that your Cobra has seats out of a Dodge Stealth. My 280Z has seats out of an early Mazda Miata. Better bolsters than the 280Z seats, and they have the provision for headrest speakers. Speaker location in a 280Z has always been a crappy compromise. I think (or hope!) that this will be the best solution.
My old '73E had an H4 headlight pop out from all the potholes in the toll roads of Chicago. The wires were the only thing holding that headlight to the car.
