I don't see that "shiny" "stepped" washer in any illustration, but I'm sure something's wrong, as I've done these belts years ago, when I had even less skill than I do now. (if you can believe that!) Wasn't memorable, that's for sure. So.....

I took the pulley off and it's immediately obvious that i've fornicated this install. the groove in the alternator shaft is 90° off from the matching one on the large sort of rectangular washer. And, there's no Woodruff key in sight. So, it's back to the drawing board tomorrow, the problem is in front of the belts. More later, even if i hate to admit it. thanx steve
