Way back in 1974 I was young, and just bought my 74 914 2.0 and it was a beautiful fall day on a Saturday and I went to drive the roads in Central Alabama. I just picked roads and drove. I ended up in Weogufka with a need for more gasoline. I stopped at the only gas station I could find, and it looked like something from the Andy Griffith Show and I expects to see Goober come out. I pumped my gas, and I noticed two boys that were about 8 or 10 and I heard clearly as one said to the other "Lookie thar, that's a real race car" and I just pumped my gas and smiled.
I thought I had read that the 914/6 Sporto was built for rallying. My guess is they never did it. And where was that I read? donno
