Back when I was your age, F1 cars only carried a light load of fuel and they could change tires as much as they wanted, and ALL THE TIRES WERE BLACK!

Shumi would smoke the other cars and build up a big lead, and then pit again to get a splash and some new stickies. then he'd smoke em again.
They'd pit many times during the race and go full tilt the entire time, not just pit once then then coast to the finish while "managing tire wear".
Heck some times he'd lap everyone except his team mate.

Ah, now that was racing. And we were darned glad to have to too!

But you kids wouldn't understand with your new-fangled tire colors and striped tracks with run-off areas and pansy rules to keep from hurting each other's feelings and such.
