I do hope you find your magnifier.
These are great for fine work, like soldering/electronics and splinter removal. I think wayne recommended them a few years ago:

I also use the flashlight on my phone alot, and magnifier app.
Most annoying are menus in a dark restaurant. Hard to read small fonts.
My son doesn't understand why I don't like to read plans and contracts on my phone. Big monitor in the office. He'll get it some day.
