Yes - you should make that a priority!
I've seen a Minuteman III launch from their on-base observation point, then ran inside and watched the reeentry vehicles come down on Kwaj soon thereafter. It was a clear night in February and we could see all three stages of lift. When they do test launches they send lots of maintainers and missileers from that missile's home base. These kids were from Minot and they didn't seem too sad to spend a few weeks in SoCal. Someday maybe I'll get to see it from the "catching" end of the flight...
I want to see it again, or a commercial launch, from somewhere further away. Where's a good vantage point for that? I think they always launch to the south from VAFB. It'd be cool to see from the beach somewhere, or from a mountain above the soup.
