I started reading Mad mag around 1969. I wish I had saved them. One of my all time favorite sayings was found on the front cover in a tiny font under the word MAD:
"If you kicked the people directly responsible for all your problems you wouldn't be able to sit down for a week" - Alfred E. Neuman
