Period. The Sylmar quake of 1971 was a 6.5. The Northridge quake of 1994 was a 6.7. Those two quakes killed scores of people and caused billions of dollars in damages. We are a mile from the San Andreas and feel small quakes everyday.
A 7.1 centered in Palm Desert and there will be mass panic from the majority not prepared.
Redondo Beach will be floating towards Catalina!
