I recently saw a commercial with a daytime show host I know of, but frankly haven't followed closely (or at all) recently. She looked awful--she had obviously had cosmetic surgery done, and it was terrible. It seems that more and more of the celeb-type women I remember dimly from 30 years ago are popping up with that done to their faces, and it's always pretty obvious. While I guess it's possible that it usually goes well, and we only notice the outliers, there sure seem to be a lot of outliers.

This all made me wonder about why so many women (and I guess men) seem compelled to do this.
