CRESWELL — An employee of a Creswell hemp farm was robbed Saturday by another employee, who used a stick as a weapon.

According to Lane County Sheriff’s Sgt. Carrie Carver, the victim employee called the sheriff’s office at 12:42 p.m. Saturday from the 84000 block of Cloverdale Road to report the robbery.

The suspect, 27, had allegedly threatened another employee with a stick and took an undisclosed amount of money from the employee, Carver said.

The suspect, who lives on the hemp farm property, was arrested Monday afternoon by the sheriff’s office. He faces felony charges of first-degree robbery, first-degree theft and unlawful use of a weapon, as well as a misdemeanor charge of menacing. First-degree robbery is a Measure 11 offense that carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 7½ years.
