Never would have thought you'd get that kind of problem there with as hot as it gets.
This must be on a north facing roof which is shaded almost constantly by trees, if I was guessing.

I live in a very heavily tree'd area. You can slightly tell in my photo above.

The moss on my roof appears mostly dead as we are now having summer heat (100+degrees). So now, it's more like a crust at the edge of the shingles but it will become slimy once winter shows up. I also have a lot of brick walkways and patio which always get moss in the winter. I've tried roundup but the moss comes right back.
