I’ve had an 86 3.2 cab, 92 964T, 03 996TT and currently have a 2010 997.2 3RS
They have all had their positives and negatives, I do like the 997 interior better than the 996 one.
For that price range I might look for a 2003 or newer 996 C4S as has already been suggested.
