Does anyone know a source for nitriding? I looked on the internet a few months ago and discovered most places have discontinued the service, at least in the U.S. Perhaps environmental issues. Tuftriding was a good alternative since the temperature of the heat treatment was low enough to avoid heat distortion (e.g. shaft bends).
