Oh I know. The zf6 was a splurge as I found a reasonably priced complete manual swap kit.
I haven't tuned the truck so I am sure that the 4r100 will last prolly awhile. The 7.3 is work horse. No doubt. When compared to my detuned 6.7 cummins they're reasonably compared torque machines. The front leafs of the 7.3 make it kinda crude, but reliable. I like the fact the late 6.0 have the upgraded front suspension, and leather interiors. The fact they have the reputation of 6.(oh no). Really makes them a steal especially when they get "bulletproof".
I've been watching those diesel days competitions on YouTube. Compared to all the brands a 6.0 psd wins a lot. The guy goes through a lot of transmissions.... But a 6.0 nevertheless. If I would get a light duty pick up the 6.0 would be it. However, I will stay out of the diesel pickup game. I can get a class 8 truck for peanuts compared to the bloated diesel pickup market.
