Thanks a bunch!!!! I would need to dig up photos from the start.
That’s a good idea, maybe an all inclusive aviation project thread. I know we have many enthusiast on Pelican.
I could even post my “inner geekdom” topics like bringing “successfully” back to life a lithium-ion battery for my Garmin 296. Had three, two OEM Garmin and one Chinese knock-off. I inadvertently cooked the first one and the 9v I was using all because the battery clip I was using from a defunct ELT battery is wired backwards/opposite from standard. Yes, common sense now that I think about it but it did catch me off guard when both batteries temps spike north of 130 F per my laser temp gauge. I am darn lucky I didn’t blow something up.[emoji849]
So onto my second battery, being WAY more careful, followed the steps and not really thinking it would work, got the battery to charge to 100%. I honestly am dumbfounded that the whole thing actually worked.
The Chinese knock off, well....... let’s just say that was full of “dark matter” and did not have the independent Samsung cells like the OEM ones.
Battery cover epoxied back on with JB Weld
and clamped.
Now I just need to clean up the edges
