Chris.. fwiw.. my Dad got tired of his "old man BMW 5 Series" a few years back. Wanted a newer Porsche (lives in Florida, so AC was a must) but also couldn't muster the energy for a stick... Filled his garage over the last few years with 2 toys:
1) Cayenne
2) Cayman S with PDK
The Cayenne GTS is an impressive rig.. and while it can hide some of its size, its still feels big to me. But a PDK Cayman/Boxster? mmm. Might be worth a look
