Regretfully, we needed to leave Sedona after just two day and two nights, and I totally blew the drive time for the next leg of the trip. Going from memory only (I should no longer do that...) I thought it was only 7-8 hours. Turned out that best case with no stopping it was 11 hours, and we had concert tickets for 7:30pm. Do up at 4, on the road just before 5, and we made it to Red Rocks with enough time to shower and get ready for the concert.
AZ Hwy 89 northbound out of Flagstaff
AZ/Utah Highway 160.
Moab and Arches National Park (I actually got to be a passenger for a couple of hours and take some photos!)
Somebody actually carved a 5000 sq ft home in that rock - at least that's what the internet told us - we had no time to stop!
The snow peaked mountains of Vale, CO. I wish I could have captured the awesome scenery of the Colorado River we followed through a canyon for about an hour, but I was driving and my copilot was sleeping. Next time!
We made it to our hotel in Morrison, CO (very close to Red Rocks) just in time!
690 miles in exactly 690 minutes - 11.5 hours. We stopped 5 times for coffee/gas/restroom/food/cigar breaks. PS - thank you Utah for 80mph speed limits. Since I often drive 10 over, and since there was zero traffic, and since I had new tires and brakes, well... a fair chunk of it might have been at 90ish...
