I had a dose of millennial reality when my 19 year old niece came out to the Coachella Festival. 3 days of bands I have never heard of. Lots of rap, techno and whatever it might be called.
I asked her if she ever listened to “classic rock”? Stare.
Asked her if she had heard Pink Floyd “Dark Side of the Moon” Stare.
How about “Sgt Pepper” She said she had never heard of that group!
Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys? Yeah I think I heard one song about surfing.
Asked her a few more and gave up.
I found this to be incredibly sad.
