I don't understand how someone's taste in music can be considered sad.
I'm way older than millennials, have heard of, and heard, all the groups you listed but do not listen to them by choice as I don't find that type of music appealing (I do not like classic rock, for the most part, though I have heard plenty of it, and certainly do not like Beach Boys type stuff). I am a longtime metalhead that loves the new as well as the old. Is that sad, too?
